E-Procurement Streamlined via the Cloud

Joseph E. Royce, CEO of MPS, aims to enhance the purchasing cycle via its cloud-based Direct Connect  e-procurement trading platform.

Marine Procurement Solutions (MPS) has built an electronic platform that aims to enhance the purchasing cycle for the maritime industry. MPS provides software, consultancy services and other customized solutions through its Direct Connect e-procurement trading platform that is designed to unite buyers, vendors and other members of the supply chain via a cloud-based interface that allows users to electronically process requests for quotations, purchase orders, confirmations and documents associated with supply management transactions.

Offshore Sector Helps Wrist Ship Supply Grow in 2011

Wrist Ship Supply reported solid growth in market share and turnover following a year of focused consolidation. According to the company, its turnover reached DKK 2,447 million in 2011, an increase of 20% since 2010, and earnings before interest and tax (EBIT) increased by 45% to DKK 21.7 million. The company saw positive development across regional operation areas, particularly Asia-Pacific and Germany. Wrist Ship Supply acquired Strachans Ltd, a market-leading independent food distributor to the UK offshore industry, completing a period of significant growth totalling six acquisitions in Europe, America and Canada between 2009 and 2011.

Bremner Joins Multi Service

Multi Service, the transaction management company responsible for online bunker procurement technology currently utilized by major government entities worldwide, announced today the addition of James Bremner to the maritime solutions team. Teekay Signs E-Procurement Contract With SeaSupplier

SeaSupplier Ltd., the marine e-procurement subsidiary of Stolt-Nielsen S.A. announced it has signed a multi year e-procurement contract with Bahamas-based Teekay Shipping to connect Teekay procurement systems with its suppliers. Under the agreement, SeaSupplier's SeaConnect(TM) solution will provide Teekay with a common e-procurement platform, which is geared to improve and standardize contract usage, rationalize product databases, and automate connectivity to suppliers worldwide. SeaSupplier's open technology platform and adaptable middleware software will enable Teekay's J.D. Edwards system to communicate efficiently with all suppliers, using multiple communication formats including EDI, EFACT, Flat files, XML and MTML.
