Transas Marine Pacific Upgrades Indian Navy Ships

Maritime Activity Reports, Inc.

December 6, 2010

Transas Marine Pacific has begun upgrading Indian Naval vessels to its latest Multifunction Display 4000 MFD series as a proof of concept. In 2007 Transas supplied 139 Navi-Sailor 3000 ECDIS-I systems to the Indian Navy fleet under the contract with the Republic of India Ministry of Defence along with M/S Elcome Marine Services Pvt Ltd, India as the service partner. In continuation of successful cooperation between Transas Marine Pacific and Indian Navy, the frontline ships are now upgraded to 4000 MFD incorporating ECDIS, Radar and Conning.

The main advantage of the 4000 MFD concept is the integration and sharing of the radar image and other data amongst the workstations connected to the network, such as charts and databases, sensor data, radar data, route and voyage plan data, alarms and warnings, BNWAS, track history and electronic logbook.
