Verreault Navigation has completed two recent repair contracts at our shipyard in Les Méchins.
The first contract was awarded to the yard in late April, when the McKeil Marine general cargo vessel, Kathryn Spirit
was dry-docked for mechanical repairs and maintenance in order to comply with an intermediate survey for classification purposes. Other work performed during the vessel’s stay at the yard included sand blasting and coating in the cargo holds.
Following the departure of the Kathryn Spirit, the yard was visited by Spliethoff’s Stadiongracht. The Dutch general cargo vessel was dry-docked after ice damage was sustained on the East Coast
of Newfoundland. The necessary work included the replacement of the vessel’s four propeller blades, plus an assortment of other repairs. During its time at Verreault, the shipyard made an all out effort in order to ensure that the client could meet its trading schedules and pick up its next cargoes on time.
