BP Extends Vroon ERRVs Contract

Maritime offshore-services supplier Vroon Offshore Services (VOS) Ltd has secured a three-year contract extension with BP, worth around £30million.VOS, one of the largest providers of emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRV) in the North Sea, will continue its exclusive provision of four vessels to support BP’s North Sea and West of Shetland assets until 2023.The Dutch-owned company said that the extension was secured for the VOS Discovery, VOS Fairness, VOS Innovator, and VOS Vigilant vessels.The extended contract will guarantee continuity in the delivery of vital standby cover for BP’s offshore workers and secure the jobs of around 100 Vroon seafarers.Craig Harvie…

COSCO Signs LSFO Supply Deal with Petro China

New COSCO Service Between UK, Europe, Russia

Chinese state-owned shipping and logistics services supplier company COSCO Shipping Lines announced a new COSCO feeder service from St Petersburg, Russia will begin calling at DP World Southampton."COSCO is to introduce a new weekly call at DP World Southampton, as part of a rotation including St Petersburg, Russia; Kotka, Finland; Southampton, UK; and Rotterdam, Netherlands," said a press release.The news comes after COSCO confirmed in February that DP World Southampton will be a permanent call on its feeder service. VT Group Buys Training Firm

Shipbuilding and support services supplier VT Group PLC bought training company Touchstone Learning and Skills Ltd for $20.9 million. VT acquired the work-based training provider, which specializes in the retail sector, from Martin Loftus and Touchstone Property Management Ltd. Southampton-based VT is paying $1.3 million in cash on completion and $19.6 in loan notes. Touchstone has annual profits of more than $1.7 million, operates primarily through UK government-funded contracts with the Learning and Skills Council (LSC) and has offices in several locations across England.
