Houston based marine design company Waller Marine
has been contracted to design the world's largest single power barge. The 220 MW barge mounted power plant utilizes a combined cycle technology
, comprising four LM 6000 aero derivative gas turbines
, with chilled air intakes, each coupled to a Once Through Steam Generator (OTSG). The steam generated from heat recovery drives a 55 MW steam turbine generator.
Measuring 348 ft. (106 m) with a 180 ft. (55 m) breadth designed per ABS structural standards, the barge, which will be constructed in Korea will
be dry towed to the west coast of India
, where it will supply power to the grid.
