Webb Institute Class of 2017 Turns Tassels

On Saturday, June 17, 2017, Webb Institute awarded 19 Bachelor of Science degrees at its 121st Commencement Ceremony. Each graduating student received a dual degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. Webb’s commencement ceremony opened with the singing of the National Anthem by the WooFs (Webb Family Singers) and included inspirational remarks from the ceremony’s Principal Speaker, Bruce S. On Saturday June 18, Webb Institute awarded 19 Bachelor of Science degrees at its 120th Commencement Ceremony. Webb Institute Names Crowley Scholars

Crowley's commitment to provide educational opportunities to exemplary students continued this week, as the Webb Institute named Simmy Willemann of Pleasantville, New York and Seth Cooley of East Lyme, Conn., as the 2009-2010 Crowley scholars. Both students, who will each receive $5,000 in cash grants from Crowley, were selected based on their distinguished scholastic and community service activities. As the 2010 Class President, Willemann is involved in several school activities, including creating an online student merchandise store.

Crowley Awards Scholarships to Webb Institute Students

Continuing its support of students wishing to enter maritime fields, Crowley Maritime Corporation recently awarded Thomas B. Crowley, Sr. Memorial Scholarships to Webb Institute students, Aurore Zuzick and Simmy Willemann. Both young women were selected based on demonstrated leadership qualities, school and community involvement, interest in and dedication to the maritime industry and academic success. The scholarships will assist Zuzick, a junior, and Willemann, a sophomore, in continuing their education at the elite naval architecture and marine engineering school located in Glen Cove, N.Y. Zuzick is involved in several campus activities and has distinguished herself as a leader at the Webb Institute.
