New Tug, Barge Enter Service for Vane Brothers
Marine transportation provider Vane Brothers has added two newly constructed vessels to the companyâs growing fleet: the 4,200-horsepower tugboat Philadelphia and the purpose-built asphalt barge Double Skin 510A. The Shearer Group, Inc. (TSGI) announced the completion of a 200â x 35â x 12â double skin tank barge. TSGI was contracted by C&C Marine and Repair, LLC to provide contract design services. The barge is the first of a series of double skin tank barges that will be built by C&C Marine. It is a flush deck barge with externally framed tanks and classed as a Subchapter O, USCG, acid barge.

Vane Bros. Continues Fleet Expansion
Vane Brothers, a marine transportation provider headquartered in Baltimore, has added two vessels to its fleet: the 4,200-horsepower tugboat Hudson and 55,000âbarrel barge Double Skin 601. The Hudson is the second of eight vessels in Vaneâs Elizabeth Anne Class of 4,200âhorsepower tugboats contracted through St. Johns Ship Building in Palatka, Fla. Responders to Refloat Grounded Tug and Barge
Responders are working to remove a grounded seagoing tug and empty tank barge Monday, after the vessels became beached near East Beach on Galveston Sunday, the U.S. Coast Guard announced. The Peter F Gellatly and barge Double Skin 504 ran aground after drifting from anchorage and across the Houston Ship Channel. The Coast Guard said it is working with contractors and the vesselâs owner to ensure that the barge is safely refloated.

The Vane Brothers Company has taken delivery of a 55,000 BBL double hull oil barge, Double Skin 509A. Bristol Harbor Group, Inc. (BHGI) was contracted by the builder Conrad Industries to develop the design of the 361â x 62â x 24.5â, 55,000 BBL double skin tank barge. The construction of the barge took place at Conrad Shipyard in Amelia, La. The barge is certified by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) for oceans-fully manned trade.

The Shearer Group, Inc. (TSGI) informs it has recently completed the design of a 130â x 35â x 10â double skin bunker barge for an unspecified Gulf Coast marine fuel supplier.
