Wilhelmsen 2000 Tonnes Shipment for Belwind
Wilhelmsen Ships Service’s Project Logistics team at Lysaker, Norway has just completed two shipments of heavy duty electrical cable to Belgium, for use in the Belwind offshore energy project in the North Sea off Belgium. The cables were produced in Tonsberg at Parker ScanRope AS, and loaded onto 56 reels. The cable will be used to connect the turbines together. Each reel weighed between 18 - 45 tons, and contained in total 43,722 metres of cable, totalling some 2000 tonnes.

Ezra Orders MacGregor Cargotec Cranes
Cargotec will deliver two large offshore cranes to Singapore-based Ezra Marine Service Pte Ltd in 2010 and beginning of 2011 respectively. The cranes will be fitted to a deepwater anchor-handling towing/supply vessel (AHTS) and to a self-propelled accommodation barge. The value of the order is approximately $16.4m and it was booked in the first quarter 2010 order intake. The order comprises two large active heave-compensated subsea knuckle-jib cranes. The first is for an ultra-deepwater AHTS.

Offshore Solutions’ OAS, 1000 Connections
Offshore Solutions B.V. (OSBV) reported that the OAS, mounted onboard the GDF SUEZ E&P Nederland B.V. (GSEPN) chartered vessel, REM Mermaid, has achieved over 1,000 operational connections without any LTIs. An OAS is a heave compensated telescopic gangway, enabling the safe transfer of personnel from a vessel to an offshore installation (wind turbine, oil or gas platform) designed to operate in 2.5 metre Hs (significant wave height) sea states.
