St. Johns Ship Building Landing Craft Contract
St. Johns Ship Building, Inc was awarded contract to construct a 190-ft Landing Craft for G & G Shipping out of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. This will be the fifth vessel of its fleet which joins others built by St. Johns. The vessel designed by Frank Basile of Entech and Associates, Inc. Houma, La. The Landing Craft will be equipped with twin CAT 3412 Engines approx 720 hp each and have an open deck space of 6,600 sq ft with capacity to carry 600 Tons roll on roll off cargo.
New Fuel Station for Vancouver Harbour
In December 2009, the Chevron Legacy, a new and now the only marine fuel station for Vancouver Harbour, was completed by the builders, Alaska Ship & Drydock, Inc. of Ketchikan, Alaska. The station was then towed to Vancouver and was installed and made operational in late January, 2010. This station replaced the Chevron barge S.O.B.C. No. 5 which has been moored in Coal Harbour since it was built in 1959.

Haiti-based WIN Group and South Fla.-based Santé Holding announced having reached an agreement to re-develop Terminal Varreux, S.A. in Port-Au-Prince, the largest privately-owned shipping terminal and port facility in Haiti. The fourth generation WIN Group is a Caribbean conglomerates, with stakes in multiple industries. Santé Holding is headed by Charles Towsley, former director of the Port of Miami.

Marin has been granted a $18.8m government subsidy for the construction of a unique research laboratory. The Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Maria van der Hoeven, was to officially announce the subsidy on a visit to the Marin headquarters on March 15.
