Multiple amphibious, multifunction dredges from Mud Cat are operating in Iraq to clean various dams and barrages that are positioned along the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. Iraq’s Ministry of Water Resources (MWR) purchased the MFDs to remove accumulated silt, sand and vegetation at each dam’s basin. By performing regular dam maintenance, Iraq’s MWR can maintain the designed water levels at the dams to prevent structural components from being compromised.

Evergreen Group founder and Group Chairman Dr. Yung-Fa Chang passed away at the age of 88 in Taipei on January 20, 2016. Dr. Chang was born in 1927. SC Ports Box Volumes Rise 10% in 2015
South Carolina Ports Authority (SCPA) posted 10 percent container growth in 2015, a year highlighted by strong volumes and significant progress on the harbor deepening project. SCPA handled 144,718 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) in December, pushing total container volume to 1.97 million in 2015. As measured in pier containers, or total boxes handled, SCPA's two container terminals moved 1.12 million boxes in 2015, an increase of 9.54 percent over 1.02 million containers handled last year.

Euronav Sells VLCC Famenne
Euronav NV has sold one of its two oldest VLCC vessels, the 2001-built, 298,412 dwt VLCC Famenne, for $38.4 million. The vessel is wholly owned by Euronav. The capital gain on that sale of about $13.8 million will be recorded at delivery. Following the sale, the availability of the revolver under the $750 million facility will be reduced by $23.7 million. The vessel is expected to be delivered to its new owner in the course of the first quarter 2016.
