‘Dr. Rust’ Tapped for Technical Writing

Robert Heidersbach, Ph.D., has signed on as technology editor for a new Internet corrosion journal to be provided free by CorrosionSource.com. The journal, Corrosioneering, will focus on such topics as corrosion resistant alloys, coatings, cathodic protection and corrosion inhibitors. The journal will be accessed through the CorrosionSource.com Web site.

A well-published expert in corrosion, known in industrial circles as “Dr. Rust,” Heidersbach has been involved in various aspects of metallurgy and corrosion since the early 1960s. Currently, he heads the materials engineering department at California Polytechnic State University, where he is a member and chair of numerous technical committees and associations. He has published more than 70 articles and papers relating to his specialties in corrosion and metallurgy.
