Tuesday, October 13, 2009

Akbar Khan, Vice President, Government Services Division, Inchcape Shipping Services Middle East, India & Africa, attended the re-launching of ISS’ Goa office.

ISS resumed port agency operations in India in June 2005. The firm’s origins lie in Calcutta where forebears, Mackinnnon, Mackenzie & Co., commenced ships agency services in 1847.

ISS India now has countrywide representation at all the major Indian ports handling a variety of commodities and a wide cross section of vessel types. Marine services include offshore support and Government Services activities throughout India. ISS India’s head office in Mumbai is headed by Country General Manager, Cdr Pradeep Mishra, IN (Retd).

With the re-launching of its Goa office, ISS has established a regional hub for its Government Services division whose core functions include port operations, integrated logistics, base operations, exercise and humanitarian aid. The Goa office will coordinate vessel husbandry operations for all the major ports of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Maldives, Seychelles & Mauritius.
