Panama Canal Tariff for Additional Pilot

The Panama Canal Authority issued an Advisory reminding the maritime community of the tariff if an additional pilot is required for transit of the Canal. An additional pilot may be required for such reasons as restricted visibility; inadequate sanitary conditions; inability to relay; clear-channel restrictions; or inability to maintain adequate speed. If the additional pilot is assigned before transit begins, the tariff is $2,250 each. Otherwise, the tariff is $4,500 each. (HK Law)
