Caterpillar Introduces Bundled Repair Solutions

Bundled repair solutions for engine overhauls are now available from Caterpillar Marine Power Systems. The bundled repair solution, the first to be offered for Cat marine engines, is a customizable, comprehensive solution for customers looking to keep their vessels on the water longer. Customers can choose a top end or major foundational kit and customize it with the related components needed for top end or major engine overhauls. Currently available for Cat 3412 marine engines operating in all commercial applications, the foundational kits and related components are flexible to customize to operator needs.  The bundled repair will be offered in additional engine model platforms later this year.

Jaime Tetrault, Caterpillar Marine Power Systems product support director. “The bundled repair solution presents significant benefits to the customer; we have designed the kits to be customized to each individual overhaul yet easy to order from our global Cat dealer network.”
 
The bundled repair kits are prepackaged and segmented for convenience for either a service technician or do-it-yourself customer. Provided is an order matrix that identifies all necessary components for each individual marine engine.  In addition to the order matrix, the number of part quantities required to order is drastically reduced. Customers can choose from packages ranging from Foundational to Optimal, all with the assistance of a Cat dealer. By utilizing the bundled repair solution, customers will also be able to purchase Cat parts that are manufactured to precise specifications and engineered for overhauls.

The bundled repair solution is backed by the Cat standard, one-year worldwide parts warranty. Coverage is based on repair levels and applies even if the overhaul is not done by a service technician.
