ZPMC Orders Romica Equipment for DSV

Romica Engineering Ltd (REL) has signed a contract with Shanghai Zhenhua Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. (ZPMC) to provide a triple drum winch and tooling deployment A-Frame system. This will support the overboard deployment and recovery of diver tools supporting subsea work.
 
The equipment will be fitted on the current diver support vessel in build for Sealion Shipping Ltd, on behalf of Toisa Ltd, this DP3 Multi-Purpose Saturation Diving Support/Offshore Construction Vessel (DSV/OCV) demonstrates Toisa’s continuing commitment to the future of front-rank Saturation Diving/Construction vessels.
 
The Romica supplied fully framed winch systems, A-Frame and Hydraulic Power Units will be mounted on common skids, with technical support, documentation, spares and certification. The package of supply also includes two off constant tension winches and a 1Te general purpose winch unit, with the complete package supporting diving operations delivering service hoses and lines as well as tooling baskets.
 
REL managing director Bob Turner said, “We are delighted that ZPMC have selected Romica as a winching and lifting system supplier to support their overboard deployment and recovery requirements. This contract for the supply of a comprehensive suite of equipment allows the end customer to ensure the divers services and packages of tools are deployed, managed and recovered safely and reliably.”
 
REL was founded in 2003 to provide payload welfare to the oceanographic and offshore oil and gas sector. Romica supports companies undertaking subsea measurement, monitoring and IRM (Inspection Repair Maintenance) tasks through a range of services, tools and equipment solutions.
 
Zhang Wei, manager at ZPMC, said, “It’s fortuitous to get the opportunity to cooperate with Romica for this project. It’s the very first time, but Romica showed us great advantages when preparing the technical proposal. We wish this would be a good beginning and hope Romica can provide more support in our future offshore projects."
