Liberia`s transitional government has offered a $10,000-reward to anyone providing information that would lead to the arrest of two former officials of the country`s Maritime Bureau, who were recently dismissed for allegedly stealing $3.5 million of State funds.

In a statement issued Tuesday in Monrovia, the information ministry in Monrovia said J.D. Slanger headed the Liberian Maritime Bureau and Mohammed Dukuly served as Liberia`s Permanent Representative to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) before their dismissal in connection with gross corruption, according to a report in the Angola Press.

Liberia`s interim leader Gyude Bryant dismissed and replaced them few weeks ago, while ordering them produce within 72 hours 700,000 Euros that allegedly pocketed or face prosecution. But both men, who are believed to be at large in Liberia, have failed to surrender the money in question or appear in public.
