The 'Experienced Yachts' program by Italian boatyard Sanlorenzo brings used boats up to RMQA standards with a year's guarantee

Italian motorboat builder Sanlorenzo has presented its first comprehensive program dedicated to the management of pre-owned boats, called ‘Experienced Yachts’.

The program includes severe controls, works and tests in compliance with the RMQA (Refitting and Maintenance Quality Assurance) norms established by RINA (Italian Naval Registry), as well as service and guarantee for a year starting from purchase date of the pre-owned boat.

All operations in the Experienced Yachts program are carried out by Sanlorenzo staff at the main shipyard and company headquarters in Ameglia and at Porto Mirabello in La Spezia.

“We believe the second-hand boat market represents a great opportunity today, both for clients and for shipyards,” says Massimo Perotti, Sanlorenzo’s chairman & CEO. “Shipyards are potentially the best managers of pre-owned boats, even if today this segment is still largely untapped and not properly managed.”

Founded in 1958 in Italy, Sanlorenzo is active in the production of planing motoryachts in fibreglass from 19m-33m (62ft-108ft) and semi-displacement and planing superyachts in fibreglass and steel from 28m-49m (92ft-160ft). In 2010 the company registered a turnover of €196m and an EBITDA of €17.2m.
