Honeywell Global's Satellite Terminals for Asset Tracking

Honeywell unveils the TAM-442 satellite terminal for asset tracking and monitoring. This battery-powered terminal from Honeywell Global Tracking, a division of Honeywell Scanning and Mobility, is rugged, versatile and ideally suited for tracking a wide range of mobile and fixed assets, including trucks, vehicles, containers, rail cars and other heavy equipment. The new terminal offers a number of features, including Over-The-Air (OTA) configuration, a vehicle charger that allows users to operate the terminal even when charging, two general purpose input/output ports for connecting external equipment like door sensors and panic buttonsā€¦

GOST System Tracks Stolen Boat in Abacos

GOST (Global Ocean Security Technologies), celebrating its 10th year as a world leader in marine security, tracking, monitoring and video surveillance systems, announced today the successful recovery of a stolen vessel in the Bahamas. On April 10, 2015, a 32-foot Contender equipped with the GOST NT-Evolution 2.0 security tracking system was stolen out of the Abaco area of the Bahamas. The system immediately sent out a Geofence Breach track, sending position reports from the boat. Unfortunately the system that triggers the siren and strobe was disarmed as the boat was in the process of being serviced. The GOST system tracked the vessel to a nearby island where it was ditched due to mechanical failure on one of the 350 Yamaha engines.

Maritime security and safety experts are meeting in Nassau, Bahamas, this week to examine mutual threats and solutions and challenges and opportunities in the region. Maritime Security Caribbean 2014 is being held at the Melia Nassau Beach hotel, attended by representatives of government and industry. In addition to security threats from criminals or terrorists, there is a heightened awareness today of the environmental threats posed by norovirus and ebola and other communicable health problems.
