Carnival Selects Kongsberg for Expedition Ships

Kongsberg has signed an agreement with the shipbuilding firm T.Mariotti to provide its K-Bridge Integrated Bridge System (IBS) with K-Pos Dynamic Positioning (DP) functionality for two ultra-luxury, purpose-built expedition cruise newbuilds to Carnival Corporation. The ships are under construction at the T.Mariotti yard in Genova, Italy for the ultra-luxury cruise line Seabourn, a brand of Carnival Corporation. Kongsberg Unveils New Radar Solution at Nor-Shipping

Kongsberg Maritime presented a new solution for the distribution of Radar data on board ships during Nor-Shipping 2013. Utilization of an Ethernet based LAN (Local Area Network) is a significant addition to Kongsberg Maritime’s K-Bridge Integrated Bridge System and is capable of improving safety and navigation through enhanced Radar functionality whilst offering significant installation benefits. The system is currently undergoing Type Approval testing at DNV, with first customer delivery in Autumn 2013.

Kongsberg Maritime Outfits New PGS Vessels

Two new state-of-the-art Ramform Titan-class seismic vessels under construction at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries yard in Japan for Norway headquartered Petroleum Geo Services (PGS) will feature a delivery from Kongsberg Maritime including integrated navigation, Dynamic Positioning and an extensive back-deck handling systems package.
