ClassNK Grants AIP for Ammonia-fueled 200,000 DWT Bulk Carrier

Classification society ClassNK has issued an approval in principle (AIP) for an ammonia fueled 200,000 DWT type bulk carrier jointly developed by ITOCHU Corporation, Nihon Shipyard Co., Ltd., Mitsui E&S Machinery Co., Ltd., Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. LR Awards AIP for DSIC's Zero-carbon Bulk Carrier

ClassNK Tops 210 Million Gross Tons

ClassNK continues its growth in 2012, announced  that its register topped 210 million gross tons for the first time at the end of November 2012. The announcement was made following a meeting of the Society’s Classification Committee, which certified that at the end of November 2012, the ClassNK register listed 8,163 vessels totaling 210,218,450 gross tons.
