Japan Coast Guard Honors MOL Vessels

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) announced that six MOL-operated/managed vessels have received commendations from the commanders of the 3rd and 4th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters of the Japan Coast Guard (JCG).Vessels commended by 3rd Regional Coast Guard Headquarters are: VLCC Altair Trader, VLCC Yufusan, VLCC M. Star, LNG carrier Energy Advance, and LNG carrier Energy Frontier. The vessel commended by 4th Regional Coast Guard Headquarters is VLCC Shizukisan.To mark Japan Hydrography Day, the commanders of the Regional Coast Guard Headquarters presented testimonials to individuals and organizations that have contributed to marine information services (assisting with research related to the sea and marine information).

US Secretary of Interior Honors BOEM Ocean Research Teams

Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell has presented the 'Partners in Conservation Awards' to two science teams conducting ocean research sponsored by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) at a Department of the Interior ceremony. The research involved collaboration with about two-dozen federal, academic and private sector partners over the past four years through the bureau’s Environmental Studies Program, with both projects leveraging the National Oceanographic Partnership Program, or NOPP, framework.

Statoil's Q1 2011 Results

Statoil's first quarter 2011 net operating income was NOK 50.7 billion, a 28% increase compared to NOK 39.6 billion in the first quarter of 2010. First Russian LNG Cargo Journeys to Japan

The first Russian LNG cargo for delivery to Japan has been successfully loaded from the Sakhalin II LNG plant into the Energy Frontier LNG carrier. The Energy Frontier left the Prigorodnoye port on 29 March for the Sodegaura terminal in Tokyo Bay, with a cargo of some 145 thousand cubic metres of LNG intended for two of the Company's foundation customers - Tokyo Gas and Tokyo Electric. The LNG was loaded through the 805-metre long jetty at the Prigorodnoye port, which was purpose built for the year-round export of liquefied natural gas (LNG) and oil.
