Sovcomflot Gets Funds for LNG Carrier Duo
Russian maritime shipping company specializing in petroleum and LNG shipping, (SCF Group) has signed a new $297 million limited recourse credit facility to finance its two next-generation LNG carriers.The financing deal, with a duration of up to ten years, was concluded with three international banks – ING Bank, KfW IPEX-Bank, and Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank.The funds will be used towards pre- and post-delivery financing of two new-generation 174,000-cubic metres Atlanticmax LNG carriers, which will operate under long-term charters to Shell.The vessels feature a slow-speed dual-fuel X-DF diesel engine and gas boil-off partial liquefaction system.

Bureau Veritas Wins Canadian Gas Fuel Contracts
Bureau Veritas (BV) is to class two projects for gas-fuelled vessels to be built for Canadian owners in Turkish shipyards. British Columbia-based Seaspan Ferries has chosen BV class for two hybrid LNG/diesel/battery-powered ro-ro cargo ferries which will be built at the Sedef yard in Turkey. Quebec-based Transport Desgagnes, meanwhile, has chosen BV class for two 14,000 dwt gas-fuelled asphalt/product tankers to be built at Besiktas. RS Exhibits at Kormarine 2013
Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) will participate in Kormarine 2013 in Busan, Republic of Korea, one of the largest international exhibitions of maritime industry. On 22-25 October the foremost exhibition of the maritime industry in Asia will gather leaders of shipbuilding industry. RS will undertake a scaled-up participation in this event. The first RS office opened in Korea in 1996 was originally oriented to render its assistance to ships in service in the first place.
Agreement Promotes LNG Carrier Construction
On June 21, 2013 under the auspices of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum a number of agreements were signed between Gazprom Marketing & Trading (GM&T), Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS), JSC United Shipbuilding Corporation and ОАО Sovcomflot (SCF) to promote Russian content in LNG carriers construction projects. Avance Gas Holdings Expands VLGC Fleet
Avance Gas Holding Ltd. adds Transpetrol Gas Holdings Ltd. Stolt-Nielsen Limited announce that Avance Gas Holding Ltd. (AGHL), a joint venture between Sungas Holdings Ltd. and Stolt-Nielsen Gas Ltd. has reached an agreement with Transpetrol Shipping Ltd. (Transpetrol) whereby Transpetrol will sell its two very large gas carriers (VLGC) to AGHL in return for cash and 33 1/3 equity ownership of AGHL. It is expected that the two new ships, Prospect and Progress, both delivered in 2009, will join the AGHL fleet in early July. With Prospect and the Progress, the Avance Gas fleet will consist of nine VLGCs, including the two ships to be acquired from Maran Gas Maritime Inc. The Avance Gas fleet trades mainly in the spot market, loading in the Middle East for destinations primarily in Asia.
BV Completes first Energy Management Systems Audit
Bureau Veritas has completed the first certification audit of any shipping company in the world to the new standard ISO 50001- 2011 - Energy Management Systems. Stena’s ship management division, Northern Marine Management Ltd including Northern Marine Management (USA) LLC, has achieved certification to BS ISO 50001, which ensures systematic monitoring and control of energy usage, helping to optimise efficiency, reduce fuel consumption, reduce the company’s environmental footprint and provide a cost saving for the vessels owners.
BW Fleet Management Repair Deal at ASRY
Tanker operator, BW Fleet Management, expanded its Fleet Repair Agreement with ASRY’s Bahrain yard. The new repair agreement was signed by Morten Steen Martinsen, managing director of BW Fleet Management and Chris Potter, CEO of ASRY, in April in Bahrain. The Norwegian company, which operates out of both Oslo and Singapore, manages a fleet of more than 90 vessels operated by BW Gas and BW Maritime, and the ASRY repair agreement involves those crude oil tankers, product tankers and LPG carriers that trade to the Arabian Gulf, giving guaranteed dock space and fixed rates.
