Foresight Takes Delivery of New Jackup Drilling Rig
London-based international law firm Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) advised Foresight Group of Dubai on the delivery arrangements relating to a LeTourneau Super 116E jackup drilling rig named âVIVEKANAND 3â.The rig was constructed in China by Cosco Shipping Heavy Industry Dalian Shipyard (âCosco Dalianâ) and is one of three jackup rigs constructed, delivered and employed over the last three years; a great achievement given the current challenges faced by the offshore drilling market.VIVEKANAND 3 will be deployed on charter to Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (âADNOCâ) and is the last of the three rigs built for Foresight by Cosco Dalian.
Lamprell Delivers 9th Jackup Drill Rig to NDC
Lamprell announced the completion of construction of Al Lulu, the final jackup drilling rig in a series of nine delivered to Abu Dhabiâs National Drilling Company (NDC). The contract for the NDC Al Lulu rig was awarded in April 2015, one of only three rig orders awarded that year. All nine rigs have been designed according to the Cameron LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design and were completed to the highest standards of quality using the latest in drilling system technology, the builder said.

This comes following an announcement last week where NDC exercised one of its existing options and awarded a further contract to Lamprell to build a ninth rig in the series. The âButinahâ rig, which achieved an exceptional safety record, departed Lamprellâs Hamriyah facility on 1 May, and is sailing to its drilling location in the Zakum Field off Abu Dhabi. Lamprell Delivers Jackup Rig to Greatship
Lamprell announced it has completed construction on jackup drilling rig Greatdrill Chaaru, delivering the rig to Greatship Global Energy Services Pte. Ltd. Greatdrill Chaaru has been designed according to the LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design. The rigâs construction was undertaken on a fast-track basis, completed 18 months after initial steel cutting. The naming ceremony was held at Lamprellâs Hamriyah facility in the UAE on February 9. Lamprell said Greatdrill Chaaru is due to sail to its drilling location in India within the next few days, joining its sister vessel, the Greatdrill Chaaya, which Lamprell delivered in January 2013. Both rigs are contracted to work for Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) in the offshore Indian territorial waters.
Jackup Rig Delivered to Abu Dhabiâs NDC
Lamprell has completed the construction of jackup drilling rig, the Shuwehat, and has delivered the rig to Abu Dhabiâs National Drilling Company (NDC) within budget and as scheduled. The delivery follows Lamprellâs announcement on November 12 stating that the group received a new $365 million contract award from NDC for the construction of two further jackup drilling rigs of a similar design and specification. Shuwehat is the fifth in a series of eight rigs ordered in April 2012 with the LeTourneau Super 116E (Enhanced) Class design which are being built and delivered by Lamprell to NDC.

Sembcorp Marine Profit up on Rig Building
Drilling rig builder Sembcorp Marine Ltd said on Monday its second-quarter net profit rose 5.4 percent from a year earlier, helped by stronger performance from its rig building and fixed platform businesses. The Singaporean company reported a net profit for the quarter ended on June 30 of S$131.6 million ($105.57 million), which brings the first-half net profit to S$254 million. The mean full-year net profit forecast stood at S$597 million, based on estimates from 24 analysts, Thomson Reuters data showed.
COSCO Shipbuilders Deliver Vessel, Contracts for Two More

CSSC-HPS to Build Jackup Rigs for Alliance

Coastal Energy Charters Atwood Manta Rig
Coastal Energy Company contracts 'Manta' jackup drilling rig from an Atwood Oceanics subsidiary for operations in the Gulf of Thailand & offshore Malaysia. In accordance with the contract, US-based Coastal will pay a $145,000 day rate throughout the 12 month firm duration. The Company anticipates delivery of the Manta by late November. Keppel, Consortium Secure Jackup Contract
Keppel Kazakhstan LLP (Keppel Kazakhstan) and its consortium partner Ersai Caspian Contractor LLC, Kazakhstan (Ersai Caspian Contractor), have secured a contract from Teniz Burgylau LLP (Teniz Burgylau), an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of JSC NC "KazMunayGas" (KazMunayGas) of Kazakhstan, for a KFELS B Class jackup rig worth US$242 million. Scheduled for delivery in 1Q 2015, the jackup rig will be deployed in the Caspian Sea when completed. The work scope of the rig will be shared equally among the two members of the consortium. According to the Oil and Gas Journal dated January 2010, Kazakhstan's proven oil reserves was estimated at 30 billion barrels and its natural gas reserves at 85 trillion cubic feet.

Momentum Completes Offshore Install for PCPP
Momentum recently completed the offshore installation of the DANA LWS (Light Weight Structure) for PCPP. PCPP is a joint venture between Petronas Carigalli, PetroVietnam and Pertamina of Indonesia. Momentum loaded the structure on to a Barge and installed the structure using a Jackup drilling rig. Keppel Secures B Class Jackup Rig Order
Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) has secured a contract with Vision Drilling Pte Ltd (Vision Drilling), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dynamic Offshore Drilling Limited (Dynamic Offshore Drilling), to build its first KFELS B Class jackup drilling rig for US$180 million. Slated for delivery in 1Q2013, the rig will be able to operate in water depths of 350 feet with a drilling depth of 30,000 feet and accommodate 120 men. Dynamic Offshore Drilling has the option to build an additional rig to be exercised before 3Q2011.
Ensco Acquires High-Specification Jackup Rig
Ensco said that a subsidiary of the company has purchased Diamond Offshore's Ocean Shield jackup drilling rig, a KFELS Super B Class design, delivered in 2008. The rig will be renamed ENSCO 109. The unique design includes two million pound hoisting capacity, a 15,000 psi high-pressure BOP and nearly 5,000 bbls of liquid mud capacity that make ENSCO 109 ideally suited to drill deep gas wells -- a high growth area in the premium jackup market. The design also permits drilling in water depths up to 350' to a total depth of 35,000'. Industry-wide, all of the KFELS Super B Class jackups are contracted. Keppel Delivers 5th Aban Jackup Rig
On Feb. 6, Keppel FELS Limited announced that it successfully delivered the jackup drilling rig, Deep Driller 8, to Aban Singapore Pte Ltd (Aban) on time, within budget and without incidents. Deep Driller 8 is the fifth unit to be delivered in a series of five KFELS Super B Class rigs for Aban since 2006. The rig has been completed with a clean safety record. Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine Limited (Keppel O&M) has delivered its KFELS Super B Class jackup drilling rig to Diamond Offshore Drilling, Inc (Diamond Offshore). The Ocean Shield marks the 20th KFELS B Class drilling rig constructed by Keppel FELS since the launch of this design in 2000. It will also be the first of two KFELS B Class designed rigs commissioned by Diamond Offshore in 2005. The second is being built by Keppel FELS sister company, Keppel AmFELS in . The KFELS Super B Class rigs are an enhanced version of the KFELS B Class and are equipped with cantilever skid-off capabilities and high capacity hook loads of two million pounds for operation in extreme high-temperature and high-pressure wells.
Keppel FELS to Build $205m Jackup Rig
Keppel FELS Limited (Keppel FELS) will build a third KFELS B Class jackup drilling rig worth about US$205 million for PetroVietnam Drilling & Well Services Corpâs (PV Drilling) subsidiary PetroVietnam Drilling Investment Corp (PVD Invest). The agreement is subject to conditions being met by March 14. This latest unit and PVD Investâs second rig PV Drilling II, which is already under construction at Keppel FELS, are scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2009 respectively.
