Rederij Long Ships Taps Damen for Trawler
Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam to build a new 38-meter long Beam Trawler for Rederij Long Ships. Damen Maaskant has designed the new vessel, Z91 Franson, within the maximum length and gross tonnage permitted by the Belgian Maritime Inspectorate. Naming Ceremony for Damen Fishing Vessel
On November 1st, 2019, the latest Damen Shipyards Group fishing vessel, constructed at Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam (Maaskant) was named in a dedicated ceremony organized by leading fishing company Van der Zwan. The vessel was named Spes Nova by Director of Fisheries and Rural Affairs at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality for the Netherlands Nanou Beekman.The Spes Nova, a UK-205 fly-shooter/twinrigger vessel, is part of a newly-developed range of fishing trawlers based on a Vripack Naval Architects design that sets new benchmarks for the entire sector.
New Damen ASD Tug 2411 for Port of Hamburg

KG for the supply of an ASD Tug 2411, to be named JAN. The vessel was built for stock at Damen Shipyards Changde in China before being transported to the Netherlands. New Beam Trawler Delivered
Dutch shipbuilder Damen has delivered the first new beam trawler to take to the North Sea in 12 years.Over the last 10 months, Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam (Maaskant) has outfitted the 41-meter hull from stock. The vessel, designated UK 46, is for Hakvoort Brothers, based in Urk, the Netherlands. According to the builder, a key feature of the vessel is the installation of twin Optima nozzles manufactured by Damen Marine Components (DMC). This is the first time that Maaskant has installed these in a fishing boat.The nozzles are Damen Optima L/D 0.4 models with a diameter of 3.63 meters.
New Fishing Boat to Be Built with ShipConstructor
Dutch fishing company Ekofish Group has contracted Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam to build a new twin-rig fishing trawler, specially designed to support eco-friendly fishing. Vripack will be using SSIâs ShipConstructor software for design and engineering work on the vessel. Vripack has brought the quality of its yacht design experience to the design of its first twin-rigger fishing vessel. Using a holistic approach, Vripack closely collaborated with both Ekofish and Maaskant Shipyards to create a practical, yet innovative design.
Damen Maaskant Scores Twin-rigger Contract
Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam said it has secured another contract to build a twin-rig fly shooting fishing trawler; this time for brothers Rense and Johannes de Boer. This is Damen Maaskantâs second fishing trawler contract in as many months, following close behind the contract to build the 32-meter long Spes Nova that was signed in November. Although the new vessel, to be named Meindert Senior, will have the same Vripack naval architects design as the Spes Nova, it displays some major differences.
Damen Signs Contract with Multraship
At the Europort exhibition in Rotterdam, Multraship and Damen signed a contract for the build and delivery of two Damen Stan Launch 804s. The new launches will be operated by Multraship subsidiaries Montis Mooring Boatservice BV and Verenigde Bootlieden BV. Verenigde Bootlieden BV and Montis Mooring Boatservice BV provide boatmen and other specialist marine services in the port of Terneuzen, the Netherlands. The new acquisitions will provide among others line handling services in the Terneuzen port area. The 8.62-meter Stan Launch 804s are specially modified versions of the class.
Damen To Build New Beam Trawler
Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam (Maaskant) is to build a new beam trawler for the Netherlands fishing fleet. The client is the Hakvoort Brothers from Urk, the Netherlands. The vessel, which will use a stock hull, will join another fishing boat operated by Hakvoort Brothers. This was also built by Damen Maaskant yard, 17 years ago. Based on a well proven design, the new trawler will be 41.05 meters in length and have a beam of 9 meters. As yet unnamed, her registration number will be UK-46. Beam trawlers use outrigger booms to tow two trawls, one on each side.

Jamaica Orders Two Offshore Patrol Vessels
The Jamaica Defense Force (JDF) has awarded Damen Shipyards Group a contract for two new Stan Patrol 4207 vessels. First Damen Tug for Fratelli Neri
Fratelli Neri S.p.A has taken delivery of a Damen ASD Tug 3212. The new vessel, called Luisa Neri, was handed over from Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam in the Netherlands, on 25 January 2016. The vessel represents two firsts: it is Fratelli Neriâs first Damen newbuild tug and it is the first ASD Tug in the Mediterranean with a Damen render-recovery winch. Damen is renowned for its quick delivery times and this contract further reinforces that fact: the smooth process from contract to delivery taking just 5 months. Damen Building Shellfish Dredger for the Dutch
Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam is constructing an innovative razor shell dredger for the Dutch fishing cooperative YE 118 Noordland BV. The 43-metre vessel, sharing the same name as the cooperative, shows how a standard Maaskant design can be modified to meet the ever changing requirements of the modern fishing industry. âWe are very happy to have been given the opportunity to build such a cutting-edge vessel,â says Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam Director Frits van Dongen. âThe Noordland will be able to harvest razor shells in water up to 20 metres deep â something that is made possible by the advanced pumping system.â The pump will be connected to a 30-metre suction pipe, with a 1-metre wide basket at one end that the vessel will position over the target area.
First Damen Twin Axe for Offshore O&G
To develop its large fleet, Groen Offshore, Guard & Support has selected the first Damen Twin Axe Fast Crew Supplier 2610 to be customised with Offshore Oil & Gas standby capabilities. The Netherlands-based company will deploy the new vessel on long-term charter for a major E&P operator in the Danish part of the North Sea, following quick delivery this summer from Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam. On 13 May, Henk Groen, Director of Groen Offshore, Guard & Support (in Dutch known as Rederij Groen), signed the contract for the new FCS 2610 with Frits van Dongen, Director of Damen Maaskant Shipyards Stellendam â the Damen yard in the Netherlands that will finish the vessel from stock.
