Rolls-Royce Designs New Fishing Vessel for Engenes

Rolls-Royce has signed a contract to deliver ship design and an extensive range of equipment to a 70-metre long stern trawler to be built for Engenes fiskeriselskap AS, based in Troms county, northern Norway.This highly advanced fishing vessel is to be built by Gondan shipyard in Spain, said a press release from Rolls-Royce.Shipowners Johannes Arne and Børge Arvesen, Engenes fiskeriselskap, said: "This is a milestone for our company and carries on the proud traditions of trawl fishing in our part of Norway."The vessel will be of type NVC 370 with a low resistant hull design, which meets increased demands for fuel efficiency combined with good sea keeping.

Rolls-Royce to Design and Power Trawler for Prestfjord

Rolls-Royce has received a supply order from Spain’s Astilleros Gondan shipyard for the design, propulsion and auxiliary machinery systems for what has been dubbed one of world’s most advanced fishing vessels.Scheduled for delivery in 2020 to Prestfjord Seafood, a division of Norway’s Holmøy Maritime, the 77m trawler will be based on a Rolls-Royce NVC 732 WP design arranged with triple trawl and pelagic trawl for operation in Arctic waters catching white fish and shrimps. Rolls-Royce to Design, Equip New Fishing Vessel

Rolls-Royce said it has signed a contract to deliver ship design and a range of equipment to a 70-meter long stern trawler to be built for Olympic Seafood based in Fosnavåg, Norway.The fishing vessel is to be built by Cemre shipyard in Turkey, who also holds a contracted option for a second vessel of the same type for Olympic Seafood.The vessel is designed for bottom trawling as well as pelagic trawling and will have a modern factory deck arrangement to handle and freeze both white fish and shrimp and ensure a high quality catch. The vessel is expected to be delivered in 2020.

Rolls-Royce to Design and Equip New Fishing Vessel

Rolls-Royce said it has signed a contract to deliver ship design and an extensive range of ship equipment to a purse seiner / pelagic trawler to be built for the shipowning company Gunnar Langva AS based in Ålesund, Norway. The 75 meter long vessel is to be built by Westcon Yards in Norway, and the Rolls-Royce contract is signed with the yard. This will be Westcon’s second order for Gunnar Langva. The previous vessel was delivered in 2013 and also designed by Rolls-Royce. Additionally, the new vessel will be the sixth vessel in a row to be named Gunnar Langva after the family-owned company.

Rolls-Royce Designs Stern Trawlers for Two Greenland Firms

Two stern trawlers of Rolls-Royce design are contracted to be built by the Freire Shipyard in Spain. The two vessels, both designed for catching shrimp, have been ordered by Greenland based ship owners Qajaq Trawl and Polar Seafood. “Rolls-Royce has a long history working with both Qajaq Trawl and Polar Seafood in designing several fishing vessels for use in a harsh climate. We are of course very happy to continue this cooperation,” said Monrad Hide, Vice President Sales, Rolls-Royce – Marine.

Rolls-Royce Delivers Design for Spanish Stern Trawler

Norwegian shipbuilding company Kleven has been awarded a contract for a fishing stern trawler ordered by the Spanish company Pesquera Ancora S.L.U. to be designed and equipped by Rolls-Royce. The vessel is of Rolls-Royce’s NVC 374 WP design and is scheduled to be delivered from Kleven’s Myklebust yard in the first quarter of 2018. This is the fourth contract for the same Rolls-Royce design to be built by Kleven. Rolls-Royce to Design, Equip Canadian Stern Trawler

The shipbuilding company VARD Group AS in Norway has received an order from a Canadian company for a shrimp stern trawler to be designed and equipped by Rolls-Royce, whose portion of the deal is worth in excess of £6 million. The fishing vessel, to be delivered from VARD’s Aukra yard in Norway in December 2016, is of Rolls-Royce NVC 374 design and will be around 80 meters long featuring an ICE 1A ice class hull. It will be equipped with an array of Rolls-Royce equipment, including a B33:45 main engine, Promas propulsion and a power electric system with hybrid shaft generator (HSG).

Rolls-Royce Wins Order for Live Fish Carrier

Rolls-Royce has signed an order for a Live Fish Carrier. This will be the third vessel developed by Rolls-Royce for the Norwegian ship owner Sølvtrans AS, one of the world’s largest transporter of live fish. The Rolls-Royce designed vessel of type NVC 387 is to be built by the shipbuilding company Kleven at their Myklebust yard in Norway, and the contract with the yard includes an option for a second ship. The previous two vessels of similar design to Sølvtrans were built in Spain. Rolls-Royce to Design & Equip Stern Trawler for Prestfjord Havfiske

Rolls-Royce announced it has signed a £7 million contract to design and equip a stern trawler for the Norwegian fishing company Prestfjord Havfiske AS. The trawler is a Rolls-Royce NVC 370 design and will be built at Freire Shipyard in Vigo, Spain. At 69 meters long, the vessel will carry out traditional fishing operations for whitefish and shrimps, and will be equipped for both bottom and pelagic trawl. It will operate mainly in Norwegian, Russian and Greenland waters. Rolls-Royce gets a repeat Sølvtrans AS order for the design & propulsion package of a ship developed specifically for transporting live fish. The first ship is due for delivery in June this year and this latest contract also includes options to build two more vessels of the same type. Ship for Live Fish Transport Ordered from Rolls Royce

Rolls-Royce has won its first order for a new ship developed specifically for transporting live fish. Norwegian ship owner Sølvtrans AS, the world’s largest transporter of live fish, is the first customer for this advanced, fuel efficient vessel. In order to transport live fish efficiently and in a healthy condition, customers require spacious, temperature controlled tanks in the hold of the ship.
