Anthony Veder Adds LNG/LEG Pair to Fleet

Netherlands-based operator of gas tankers in the segments of gas shipping Anthony Veder has taken delivery of two 10,000-cbm combined gas carriers, which can transport liquefied natural gas (LNG) and petrochemical gases including ethylene (LEG).With this transaction Anthony Veder expands its fleet to 33 vessels and reinforces its leading position in small scale LNG. With eight small scale LNG vessels the company continues their strategy to support  the potential for LNG as a marine fuel and in the distribution of LNG for power supply. Skaugen Goes to Red Again

Norwegian Marine Transportation Service Company I.M. Skaugen SE reported interim losses but cautiously positive and expecting a gradual recovery of trading opportunities for long routes the petrochemical market. The gas carrier owner reported profit before and after tax of minus $ 5.1 million (loss) in Q2 2016. The same quarter a year ago profit before and after tax minus $ 0.5 million. Freight revenues amounted to $ 18.5 million in this year's 2nd quarter, against 15.7 million in last year. I.M. Skaugen SE’s (IMSK) core business is liquefied gas transportation. The fleet of 15 advanced gas carriers is operated in a revenue sharing pool managed by Norgas Carriers Pte Ltd.

ASRY Rig Division’s Deliveries All on Time in 2014

In 2014, ASRY Offshore Services completed every one of its repair scopes within schedule, on-budget, and with leading safety standards. ASRY, a ship and rig repair yard in the Arabian Gulf, has confirmed that its Offshore division, which specializes in rig repairs, achieved 100% on-time delivery of all the rig projects completed in 2014. Global clients including Saudi Aramco, Saipem, Nabors Drilling, Egyptian Drilling Company and more chose ASRY for their rig repair projects last year, which totaled 17 rigs, and all took delivery of its vessels on schedule, and within budget. “With competition rising in the region, rig customers are more focused on ensuring that the maintenance of their assets is completed as efficiently as possible,” said ASRY Chief Executive, Nils Kristian Berge.

Naming of Evergas’ first vessel under the Danish flag

The Director General of the Danish Maritime Authority Andreas Nordseth recently attended the naming ceremony of Evergas’ new gas tanker that is to carry petrochemical gas for use in the plastic industry. It is Evergas’ first vessel under the Danish flag. “By having more ships under the flag, we ensure continued ship owner activities in Denmark for the benefit of employment and Blue Denmark as a whole," said  Andreas Nordseth. Economy Still Close To Recession, Prospects For Shipping Industry Remain Bleak: Report

The global economy remains in a state close to recession, and although authorities are trying to stimulate growth using methods such as reducing interest rates, it is not anticipated that any real improvements will be seen until the year 2000, reports Drewry Shipping Consultants Ltd. in a report detailing various aspects of the shipping industry. Prospects for industry, the report states, remain difficult. Tanker market conditions are being exacerbated as a result of consolidation in the oil sector. The increase in competition is forcing owners to reassess their strategic goals and financial standing and inevitably this is leading to a similar process of amalgamation in the tanker sector.
