Altera Hires DOF to Install Voyageur Spirit FPSO Offshore Ivory Coast

Altera Infrastructure has hired DOF to install Voyageur Spirit floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) unit as well as one floating storage unit (FSO) at Eni-operated Baleine oil field offshore Ivory Coast.The project includes the complete installation of seabed mooring systems, flowline between the FSO – a converted shuttle tanker Nordic Brasilia - and the Voyageur Spirit FPSO, along with their associated equipment.The contract for the redeployment of the FPSO and the FSO was secured by Altera back in October 2023.Voyageur Spirit is a cylindrical-shaped FPSO…

Eni to Invest $10 Billion in Ivory Coast Baleine Field

Eni will invest $10 billion in the development of the Baleine field offshore Ivory Coast, which will take place in three phases from 2023 to 2027, Energy Minister Mamadou Sangafowa Coulibaly said on Thursday.The Baleine field, where certified reserves are estimated at 2.5 billion barrels of oil and 3.3 trillion cubic feet of natural gas, was discovered in 2021 by the Italian energy group off the east coast of the West African country.The field's crude oil production should reach 200,000 barrels per day by 2027, compared with 30,000 barrels per day in 2023, the energy minister said."With a tota

First Successful Flow Test from East of Oman in 30 Years

Masirah Oil Limited announced the testflow rates of the previously announced discovery at the second exploration well in Block 50 Oman, were very encouraging. The exploration well was drilled to its final depth into the Cambrian formation. The key objectives of the exploration well were to prove the presence of movable hydrocarbons and a working petroleum system within the block. Several zones in the well show evidence of hydrocarbon presence. During a 48-hour test, hydrocarbons were flowed to the surface and the well achieved light oil flow rate of up to 3000 stock tank barrels per day (stb/d) with no water production. This is the first offshore oil discovery in the east of Oman after more than 30 years of exploration activities.

Oil Discovered in Second Oman Exploration Well

Masirah Oil Limited has announced the successful reach of the well target depth in the second exploration well in Block 50 Oman to its final depth of >3,000 metres into the Cambrian formation. Hydrocarbons were discovered in several formations with good oil sample extracted. The well will undergo data acquisition before setting the completion for testing. Rex International Joint Entity Spuds First Well in Oman

Rex International Holding Limited, one of the largest companies listed on the Catalyst of the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited, announced that its jointly-controlled entity, Lime Petroleum Plc, through its subsidiary Masirah Oil Ltd., has begun drilling and exploration well in Masirah North North #1 (MNN #1), located in the Block 50 Oman concession, on November 25, 2013. This is part of a two-well drilling program in the concession. The prospect MNN #1, which is about 1,000 meters in depth, was selected for drilling after in-depth technical evaluation and verification using the proprietary Rex Virtual Drilling technology, in addition to confirmations provided via conventional methodologies.

Offshore W. Africa Subsea Equipment Order for FMC

FMC Technologies, Inc.wins order from CNR International Ltd. for subsea equipment for the Baobab field, offshore Ivory Coast. The Baobab field is located in Block CI-40 West Africa approximately 16 miles (25 kilometers) offshore from the Ivory Coast. FMC Technologies' scope of supply includes six subsea trees , eight wellheads , three manifolds , and a Subsea Control System including subsea distribution systems and associated topside control systems . The equipment is scheduled for delivery in 2014. "FMC Technologies is pleased to support CNR International in its ongoing development of the Baobab field," said Tore Halvorsen , FMC Technologies' Senior Vice President, Subsea Technologies.
