Glamox to Light Up PGS’ Seismic Vessels

New Head for Glamox’s Marine, Offshore, and Wind (MOW) Division

Lighting solutions specialist Glamox said Wednesday that Tommy Stranden would replace Håkon Helmersen as Chief Sales & Commercial Officer for Glamox’s Marine, Offshore, and Wind (MOW) division.Stranden (46) is the general manager for MOW’s Northern Europe business. He joined Glamox from NOV in January 2018 and has led MOW’s Northern European business with international responsibilities for Scandinavia, the UK, the Middle East, India, Africa, Australia, and South America. He will report to Astrid Simonsen Joos, Group CEO of Glamox, and join the Glamox Group Leadership Team.

Singapore and Rotterdam Port Authorities to Establish Green and Digital Corridor

Glamox CEO Transition Set for 2022

Glamox said that Rune Marthinussen,CEO & President, plans to retire from the company next year, and that the Board of Directors has appointed Astrid Simonsen Joos to succeed him as CEO. The change takes effect August 1, 2022, and Marthinussen has agreed to support Astrid full time until December 31, 2022. Astrid Simonsen Joos most recently served as Global Chief Digital Officer and Head of Transformation of Signify (previously Philips Lighting). She has throughout her career had roles in the software industry and within digital business developments through numerous management positions at Microsoft and the position as CEO of a digital agency (Creuna). Astrid Simonsen Joos also currently serves on the boards of Telenor and Nordea Invest.

Total Joins Maersk-led Shipping Decarbonization Project

French oil major Total said it will contribute to a project led by shipping giant Maersk aiming to develop new alternative fuels and carbon neutral solutions for ships.The nonprofit Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller Center for Zero Carbon Shipping was formed in 2020 as the maritime industry continues efforts to reduce its environmental footprint. The partners behind DESMI Ocean Guard A/S today announced that A.P. Moller - Maersk A/S and UltraAqua A/S have sold their shares in DESMI Ocean Guard A/S to DESMI A/S. The transaction gives DESMI A/S full ownership of the company, which presently has two Ballast Water Treatment systems in its portfolio. The newly developed RayClean system was launched recently but has already now secured several orders with the first systems being currently under installation. DESMI Ocean Guard A/S was established by A.P. Moller – Maersk A/S, DESMI A/S and UltraAqua A/S in 2009.

Autronica Installs Fire Detection System Aboard Carnival Cruise Vessel

Autronica Fire and Security AS has completed the first major refit project on a passenger vessel for its flagship AutroSafe 4 fire detection system. The refit of the fire detection system aboard Carnival Sunshine took place at the Fincantieri yard in Trieste, Italy, during April and May 2013. Called Carnival Destiny prior to its $155-million dollar makeover, the 3006 passenger capacity Carnival Sunshine launched on May 5, 2013. The renovations at Fincantieri included the addition of Carnival’s Fun Ship 2.0 dining, bar and entertainment features, and an additional 182 staterooms. Safety systems were also a key aspect of the renovations, with AutroSafe 4 chosen as one of the world’s most advanced maritime fire detection systems.
