Senegal Awards LNG, Oil Advisory Job to Doris Engineering

French engineering services provider Doris Engineering has been awarded an advisor contract by the Senegalese ministry of petroleum and energies for the development of oil & gas projects offshore Senegal.This two-year mission consists in reviewing the optimization and the robustness of the field development performed on these projects to be in line with the Ministry expectations. It focuses on two projects: Grand Tortue Ahmeyim, operated by BP, and the SNE project, operated by Woodside.Grand Tortue Ahmeyim is located at the border between Senegal and Mauritania and lies in ultradeep-water. Bergen Subsea Cluster Poised for Business

The Hanseatic trading city of Bergen, on the edge of the Norwegian North Sea, has a long maritime tradition. From shipping to aquaculture to offshore oil and gas, this is a city whose economic identity is defined by its ties to the sea. The city is by far Norway´s largest port, with more than 13 million metric tonnes of cargo transported to and from Bergen in 2010. Bergen is also the country´s largest center for aquaculture and marine science research, and is home to the Institute of Marine Research and an active marine science research centre at the University of Bergen.

SMIT Acquires GB Diving

SMIT acquired all shares of GB Holding B.V., the parent company of the subsidiaries GB Diving B.V. (oil & gas) and GB Diving -Inshore B.V. (civil). GB Diving is a Dutch company that provides ROV (Remote Operated Vehicles) and diving services, including project management, project engineering and related services for the high end of the oil and gas market. GB Diving's 30 employees will be integrated into the SMIT organization as a business unit named SMIT Subsea Europe. This new business unit will join SMIT Subsea Africa and SMIT Subsea Middle East, thus becoming the third regional subsea centre in the subsea network.
