DONG Energy Expands in the Port of Esbjerg

The positive development within the offshore industry has made its impact on DONG Energy, which is a significant player in the market. The increased activity has made it necessary to extend the company's office and storage facilities in the Port of Esbjerg. Therefore, DONG Energy has entered into an agreement with Blue Water Shipping to expand the two companies' existing lease agreement. Blue Water Shipping will invest around DKK 55 million in the renovation and rebuilding to meet DONG Energy's requirements for additional office facilities, storage buildings, parking lots and surrounding areas. The existing office building will be expanded by 700 square metres and a nearby storage building will be transformed to a two-storey office with direct access to the existing office.

Allis-Chalmers Acquires Rebel Rentals

Houston-based Allis-Chalmers Energy Inc. reported it has acquired Lafayette, La.-based Rebel Rentals Inc. for $6.75m. Officials contend the acquisition will strengthen Allis Chalmers’ Tubular Services segment throughout south Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region. Rebel owns an extensive inventory of equipment and provides tubing installation services. “We expect this acquisition to enhance our Tubular Services segment’s overall market position and improve our capabilities in remedial well workover and completion activities,” said Micki Hidayatallah, Allis-Chalmers’ chairman and CEO. “Furthermore, this acquisition allows us to provide additional equipment to support our casing and tubing handling work in the Gulf of Mexico.”
