Marioff Launches New HI-FOG Electric Pump Unit

Marioff Corporation Oy has announcd the launch of a new HI-FOG Electric Pump Unit (EPU) for the high-pressure water mist fire suppression segment. Incorporating closed loop pressure control, the EPU revolutionizes pumping technology for high-pressure water mist technology. Marioff, a  developer of the water mist fire protection technology, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. The EPU’s advanced control system ensures that the pump unit provides only the required pressure and flow.

WTS Acquires Novenco Fire Fighting A/S

Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions acquires speialist in water-mist technology, Novenco Fire Fighting A/S. “The acquisition of this niche player in water mist technology further strengthens our safety portfolio, taking us an important step closer to becoming the world’s leading fire fighting provider in the maritime and offshore industries” says Petter Traaholt, President Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions (WTS). NFF is purchased from a private equity fund managed by Dania Capital. NFF exports over 90% of its products to customers in more than 26 countries; its main markets are Asia, followed by Europe and the US. This customer portfolio will expand WTS’ customer base for safety applications in cruise and yacht particularly.

Enhanced Fire Protection for Engine Rooms

At sea, fires can have destroying  effects: if flames break out on a ship, help is generally many sea miles away. Therefore, such situations require an efficient fire extinguishing technology available in order to mitigate the risk of fire. Minimax has expanded the high pressure water mist extinguishing system Minifog marine XP for use in engine rooms and cargo pump rooms  of up to 8,235 m* volume. With this, Minimax meets the stricter requirements, especially on board of cruise ships.
