Gladding-Hearn Delivers Fast Response Boat
Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation, has delivered the first multi-purpose, fast response pilot boat in North America with firefighting capabilities and equipped with Volvo Penta’s Dynamic Positioning System. The all-aluminum vessel, designed jointly by the Somerset, Mass., shipyard and C. Raymond Hunt Associates, has a deep-V hull, measuring 64.11 feet overall, with a 21.4-foot beam and a 6-foot draft.

Gladding-Hearn Delivers First of Five NYPD Boats
With more than a dozen patrol boats and a fireboat built by Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation and operating in New York Harbor, the NYPD’s Harbor Unit turned again to the Mass.-based shipyard for five new patrol/rescue boats, three 61-footers and two 70-footers. Gladding-Hearn Delivers New High-Speed Ferry to Rhode Island Fast Ferry. Rhode Island Fast Ferry Co. has taken delivery of a new high-speed passenger ferry from Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation, to operate between Quonset Point, Rhode Island and Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. Gladding-Hearn Delivers Third Launch to Md Pilots
Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation, has delivered a new pilot boat, the third launch for the Maryland pilots, built by the Somerset, Mass., shipyard. Designed by C. Raymond Hunt & Associates, the new Chesapeake Class, all-aluminum pilot boat measures 52.5 ft overall, with a 16.6-ft beam and 4.7-ft draft, and has a top speed of 25 knots. The deep-V hull is powered by twin Detroit Diesel Series 60 engines, each delivering 600 Bhp at 2100 rpm, with Twin Disc MG5114A gear boxes.
