Cruise Industry Wins Key Norovirus Judgment
In what is being seen as a landmark decision, Hill Dickinson is the first law firm to have successfully defended a UK class action case involving a Norovirus outbreak onboard a cruise liner. The case, which involved an outbreak of gastroenteritis onboard the “THOMSON SPIRIT”, chartered by TUI UK limited and operated by Louis Cruise, was a 43-claimant class action, 28 of whom had alleged bacterial illness with the balance claiming breach of contract.

Finning has opened its £8 million purpose-built National Distribution Center in Cannock to support its continued customer growth in after sales support and maintenance. PPG Industries today announced the appointment of Kevin E. McDonald, as vice president, fiber glass, effective March 1. McDonald is currently PPG general manager, reinforcements, and leader for fiber glass in the Americas and EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa). He will report to Viktor Sekmakas, PPG executive vice president, and continue to be based at the company’s Glass Business and Discovery Center in Harmar, Pa. McDonald will succeed Thomas P.
