Volvo Penta Americas Strengthens Leadership Team

Press Release
Wednesday, December 19, 2012

Volvo Penta announced three key appointments to the newly formed Volvo Penta Region Americas organizational structure.

This organizational realignment brings together all of North, Central and South America, and the Caribbean under a unified management structure. Customers, OEMs and dealers will see more direct and coordinated support within the Americas. The addition of the Latin America organization comes into effect Jan. 1, 2013.

Julia Zelenock has been named director of marketing. She will be responsible for managing and implementing a strategic marketing plan that builds, promotes and communicates Volvo Penta’s brand, products and services in the marine and industrial market sectors. Zelenock comes to Volvo Penta from Volvo’s Construction Equipment group, where she was director of marketing and communications strategy. She also served in management positions at Ingersoll Rand and marketing roles at Bobcat Company.

Marcelo Puscar has been appointed director of marine sales for Latin America with responsibility for sales of marine gas and diesel engines. He will develop sales, implement and manage the strategic direction for the leisure and commercial marine sectors. Puscar brings more than 15 years of experience in marine and automotive industries in sales, purchasing and management positions. He was formerly commercial director for a large boat group in Brazil and commercial manager for the Fibrafort Shipyard.

Elpidio Luiz de Narde has been promoted to director of aftermarket sales and customer support for Latin America. He will be responsible for all aspects of applications, technical support, warranty, parts and accessories in the marine and industrial sectors. He joined Volvo Penta in 2011 as aftermarket sales and customer support manager for Brazil. He has extensive experience within Volvo Group Latin America.

All three of the newly named directors will report directly to Ron Huibers, president of Volvo Penta Region Americas. “These three key appointments will deliver customer growth in the Americas and greatly strengthen our marketing, sales and service organization,” said Huibers. “We will announce other key appointments in the coming months as we continue to focus on achieving even higher levels of customer satisfaction.”
