Teekay Implements Bunker Procurement Software

October 10, 2005

Bunker Logistics, a provider of bunker procurement software, announced the successful implementation of its BunkerDashboard Bunker Procurement Software at Teekay Shipping Corporation. By automating the procurement process and integrating it with robust tools, the solution helps users and distributed teams improved their knowledge base, collaborative efforts, productivity and performance. Additionally, the BunkerDashboard helps in supplier management, claim monitoring, improving reporting and trending while adding data integrity and security.

“The industry is changing – higher prices, more regulations, lesser quality of fuel, environmental concerns all combine to make it more important to implement a solution to help manage and measure bunker purchases and performance, said Mitchell J. Karp, VP of Bunker Logistics, the software division of LQM Petroleum Services. “The BunkerDashboard fills a need in small and large corporations to easily implement a solution that will help the bunker buyer, management and accounting gain access into a fragmented process and drive the collaborative efforts among the users. “The tools that the BunkerDashboard offered and the BunkerDashboard process mapped well to Teekay’s needs. We worked closely with Teekay in the successful deployment of the BunkerDashboard and are proud to have one of the world’s largest and most respected shipping companies as our client.”

Mark Cameron, Director of Procurement for Teekay Shipping states “We wanted to streamline and improve our bunker procurement processes while increasing the integrity and value of the data we were capturing. With LQM’s Bunker Dashboard, we have found a solution that helps us improve our processes and allows us access to the most current market data to support management decisions and assist analysis.”
