Bahamas to host the E1 Powerboat Racing Series in 2026

Posted to Maritime Reporter on November 23, 2025

The UIM E1 World Championship for electric powerboat racing will host its final round 2026 in the Bahamas, organizers announced Monday. This is the first time the event has been held there.

The eight-race series will begin in Saudi Arabia in Jeddah, before moving to a European leg in April, starting on Lake Como in Italy. After that, the season will move on to Dubrovnik, Croatia, in June, and Monaco in mid-July, with a brand new Team Monaco entry.

The round for September is still to be confirmed. In October, the first-ever all-electric powerboat race returns to Lagos. It will then head to North America in November with a final round in Miami.

The Bahamas will close the season November 21-22.

The 2026 E1 Calendar marks a new exciting chapter for us, said Alejandro Agag, founder and chairman.

"We are rapidly creating an exciting and truly global championship which combines cutting edge electric innovation with iconic coastal towns and new markets."

The team is owned by Will Smith, Rafa Nadal and NBA star LeBron James. Tom Brady, a seven-time NFL Super Bowl winner, also owns the team.
