Bangladesh announces another tender for the purchase of 50,000 tons rice

European traders reported on Monday that Bangladesh's state grain buyer has announced a new international tender for the purchase of 50,000 metric tonnes of rice.

December 1 is the deadline for submitting price offers.

In recent months, the government of Bangladesh has held a number of tenders for rice to increase local supplies. The domestic rice price in Bangladesh has risen by about 15% in the last year, despite a bumper harvest. This leaves consumers with a difficult situation.

Bangladesh also released a separate tender for 50,000 tons rice. Price offers are due on November 20, following two previous tenders held in November.

The new tender seeks to solicit price offers on non-basmati parboiled risotto in CIF terms liner out, which include ship unloading charges for the seller. The tender price offers must be valid until December 15, 2019.

The contract specifies that the shipment must be made to Chittagong or Mongla within 40 days of award.

The rice must be shipped 40 days after the contract is awarded. Michael Hogan, Conor Humphries and Michael Hogan are responsible for reporting.
