Boeing CEO: We aim to increase 737 MAX production by the end of this year to 47 a monthly.
Boeing CEO Kelly Ortberg stated on Thursday that the company wants to increase 737 MAX production from the current mid-30s per month to 47 by the year's end.
He said at a Bernstein Conference that the company hopes to increase its production of their best-selling plane to 42 per month "by midyear."
Boeing 737 production is currently capped at a monthly rate of 38 aircraft. This limit was imposed in 2024 by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration after a midair crash brought the safety and quality program of the planemaker under scrutiny.
Ortberg said that Chinese Airlines will resume Boeing deliveries in June. China had stopped deliveries of Boeing aircraft in April as a result of tariffs imposed on President Donald Trump.
