Brazil's Petrobras plans to increase production at three FPSOs
Sylvia dos Anjos said that the Brazilian state-run Petrobras wants to increase production on three offshore floating production platforms it operates. Anjos stated that the production at the Almirante-Tamandare FPSO of the company in Buzios could be increased from 225,000 barrels per day (bpd) reached last week to 250,000 bpd. She also said the company is looking to increase output in the Santos Basin at the Marechal-Duque de Caxias FPO.
Anjos didn't name the third FPSO. Anjos said that both FPSOs named by name had already reached their peak production. However, the state-run firm is in negotiations with SBM Offshore of Netherland and Modec of Japan to increase production past this limit.
Anjos said that "there are contracts to be renegotiated" and added that the companies operating the vessels have "goodwill". (Reporting by Fabio Teixeira and Rodrigo Viga Gaier)
