India expresses "deep concern" over the attack on two Indian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz

India announced that it had invited the Iranian envoy to New Delhi, and expressed its "deep concern" about the attack on the two Indian flagged ships which were attempting to 'cross the Strait of Hormuz a day earlier.

According to an Indian government source, one of the ships attacked was the Sanmar Herald.

Source: The vessel and crew were both safe.

A statement by the Ministry of External Affairs said that India's top official in the foreign ministry asked the Iranian ambassador for him to relay India's view to the Iranian authorities, and to resume as soon as possible the process to facilitate India-bound vessels?across the Strait.

The statement stated that the ambassador said, "he would convey these opinions to Iranian authorities." The statement said that the ambassador would?transmit these views to Iranian authorities.
