Jordan purchases approximately 60,000 metric tonnes of wheat at tender, traders claim

Posted to Maritime Reporter on September 23, 2025

In an international auction held on Tuesday, Jordan's state grain buyer bought about 60,000 metric tonnes of hard milling whey from optional origins.

They said that it was estimated to have been purchased from Al Dahra for $266.00 per ton, including freight (c&f), with shipment scheduled to take place in the first half November.

The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later.

Traders have received information that Jordan will be issuing a new tender for 120,000 tonnes of wheat in the next few days. The deadline for submission of offers is September 30, with shipments expected in different combinations during the months of December 2025 or January 2026.

Other trading companies also participated in the Tuesday's tender. Their estimated offers per ton C&F were: Cargill $269.90; Bunge $277.00.

On Wednesday, a separate bid from Jordan for 120,000 tons animal feed barley will close. (Reporting and editing by Louise Heavens, Michael Hogan)
