Jordan purchases approximately 60,000 tons wheat at tender, traders claim

Posted to Maritime Reporter on August 26, 2025

In an international auction held on Tuesday, Jordan's state grain buyer bought about 60,000 metric tonnes of hard milling whey from optional origins.

They said that it was estimated to have been purchased from Cargill for $267.50 per ton, cost and freight included.

The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later.

Traders have received information that Jordan will be issuing a new tender for 120,000 tonnes of wheat in the next few days. The offers are expected on September 2, with the shipment being sought in different combinations for October and November.

Other participants in the Tuesday's tender include these trading companies with their estimated offers for a ton of c&f. They are: Cofco, Solaris, Buildcom, Bunge, Al Dahra, CHS, and Bunge.

On Wednesday, a separate Jordanian tender for 120,000 tons animal feed barley will also be closed. (Reporting and editing by Susan Fenton, with Michael Hogan)
