No. No. 10 Notre Dame easily defeats Navy in the rain
CJ Carr completed thirteen of sixteen passes for 218 yard and three touchdowns and No. On a wet Saturday night, No. 10 Notre Dame dominated Navy 49-10 in South Bend.
Jeremiyah love carried the ball for Notre Dame (7-2) 13 times, resulting in 94 yards of yardage and two touchdowns. It was their seventh consecutive win. Jadarian Williams and Aneyas Price each scored one touchdown.
Braxton Woodson rushed for 101 yards and scored a touchdown in the Navy (7-2) win. Jackson Gutierrez added seven carries for 37 yards.
The Fighting Irish led Navy 21-10 at the halftime break before scoring 28-0 to win the second half.
Love scored with 7:31 remaining in the first quarter. He bounced across the middle of the line-of-scrimmage to score a 1-yard touchdown, capping off a seven-play drive of 94 yards.
Navy tied the score at 7-7 on Woodson’s quarterback keep early in second quarter. In the early stages, he scored a 2-yard touchdown as the Midshipmen fought hard against the Fighting Irish.
With 5:57 left in the first-half, Price gave Notre Dame a decisive lead. He scored a 2-yard rushing touchdown to give the Fighting Irish an advantage of 14-7.
Carr scored a 5-yard touchdown on a Jordan Faison pass with 1:42 left before the halftime.
Nathan Kirkwood's kick of 33 yards, made 15 seconds before halftime, reduced the Navy deficit to 21-10.
Notre Dame blew the score out in the second period.
Love started the game with a 48 yard rushing touchdown during the first drive of the third period. He ran past one Navy defender before running into another. But he didn't fall to the ground. Instead, he sat atop the Navy defender as he leapt up and sprint for the score.
Carr's 34-yard touchdown pass to KK Smith increased Notre Dame’s lead by 10 points to 35 on the following drive.
Carr's touchdown reception of 4 yards along the left edge of the endzone midway through third quarter continued the Fighting Irish's dominance.
Williams completed the scoring with a 54 yard rushing touchdown at 11:27.
