NOFI South Korea to purchase up to 207,000 t corn

Posted to Maritime Reporter on July 30, 2025

European traders reported on Wednesday that the leading South Korean feedmaker Nonghyup Feed Inc. has announced an international tender for up to 207,500 metric tons animal feed corn.

The deadline to submit price offers for the tender is Wednesday, 30 July.

Three consignments of between 45,000 and 69,000 tons of corn are expected to arrive in South Korea around November 20, December 5, and December 6.

This week, the tender continued to buy a lot of corn from Asia after Chicago corn futures fell following forecasts for good weather in U.S. corn-growing regions.

The Taiwanese importer MFIG bought 65,000 tonnes of animal feed corn Wednesday, following a number of Korean corn purchases made on Tuesday.

NOFI's bid for the shipment of the consignment arriving on November 20 was solicited between October 13 and November 1 if the consignment is sourced from U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast, between September 23 and October 12 if it comes from U.S. Gulf coast, September 18 to October 7 from South America, or October 3-22 if it comes from South Africa.

The consignment that will arrive on November 25th is to be shipped between October 18 and November 6 if it comes from the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast, or between September 28 and October 17 if it comes from the U.S. Gulf coast, September 23-October 12, if coming from South America, or between October 8-27 if coming from South Africa.

The consignment was to arrive on December 5, and the shipment should be shipped between October 28 and November 16 if it comes from the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast, or between October 8-27 from the U.S. Gulf coast, or between October 3-22 from South America, or between October 18-November 6, if it comes from South Africa.

The traders stated that they were seeking both outright prices for corn per ton and c&f as well as a premium on the Chicago December 2025 contract. Reporting by Michael Hogan, Editing by Sonia Cheema
