Onuachu side sign by Super Lig, Tall Paul towers to Trabzon and back.
Paul Onuachu, the Nigerian striker who had been on loan at Southampton for a year and a half, has now moved permanently to Trabzonspor.
The Saints fans nicknamed him "Tall Paul", but the forward, who stands at 2.01 metres, never really found his feet in the Premier League. He scored just four goals, and Southampton fell out of the top division.
In Turkey, he was his old self. He scored 15 goals in just 21 games in the league while on loan in last season's campaign and won over fans and the board.
Onuachu, 31, was prolific at Genk with 73 league goals in 103 games. His return to Trabzonspor, however, feels more like a reset rather than a risk.
On August 8, the new Super Lig will begin, with Galatasaray as champions. Trabzonspor will be hoping that their returning striker can continue where he left.
