Ma'a Nonu, a New Zealander who played for the New Zealand national team in the 1990s and 2000s, has signed a new one-year contract with Toulon.
In February, the evergreen centre surprised Toulon by making a return. He was brought in as medical cover to help with the remaining months of the season 2024-25. When he played against Castres on March 15, he became the oldest Top 14 Player.
Nonu, a twice-World Cup champion who has played 103 times for All Blacks and is now in his third spell at Toulon following stints between 2015-18 and 2020-21.
Toulon has also announced the arrival of seven players, including former England number 8 Zach Mercer and Italy centre Ignacio Brex. New Caledonian-born talent Patrick Tuifua is a hulking, 20-year old flanker. He turned down a Super Rugby deal with New Zealand's Wellington Hurricanes.
Bordeaux-Begles defeated Toulon in the 2025 semifinals. The Top 14 will begin on September 6.
