South Korean group purchases around 67,000 tonnes of corn, traders claim
A South Korean importer group comprising Feedmill Group and Cargill Agri Purina purchased approximately 67,000 metric tonnes of animal feed corn at an international auction on Tuesday, European traders reported.
The corn was purchased in one shipment for delivery to South Korea on or around February 10, 2026.
A total of 38,580 tonnes was purchased for an estimated price of $246.61 per ton. This includes cost and freight. The rest of the corn was bought at a premium 188.90 U.S. Cents per bushel.
Both charge an additional $1.50 per ton surcharge for port de-loading. The seller was thought to be CJ International, a trading house.
Shipping from South America or South Africa was requested from December 8 to December 27, respectively. The reports reflect the assessments of traders, and additional estimates of volumes and prices are possible later. Michael Hogan is reporting.
