South Korean milling groups bought around 50,000 tons wheat from US traders, traders claim
European traders reported on Friday that a South Korean flour'mill group' purchased an estimated 50,000 tons of milling wheat this week to be sourced from the United States.
This purchase is in addition to the 20,800 tons U.S. origin wheat purchased by another South Korean milling company this week.
The 50,000-ton order included several different wheat types, and all were purchased on a FOB basis (free on board) for shipment between April 1, 2026 and April 30, 2026.
The seller was thought to be the?trading House ADM.
The purchase included 24,645 tons soft white wheat with a protein content between 9.5%-11%, bought for an estimated $226.56 per ton FOB. 1,870 tonnes of soft white 'wheat' with a maximum protein content of 9.5% was purchased at an estimate $237.58 per ton FOB.
The traders also said that 9,930 tons were purchased at $242.46 per ton of 'hard'red winter wheat with a minimum of 11.5% protein and 13,555 tons were purchased at $268.83 per ton of a 'dark northern spring wheat with a minimum of 14% protein.
