South Korea's KFA offers up to 69,000 tonnes of corn, traders claim

Posted to Maritime Reporter on November 18, 2025

European traders reported on Tuesday that the South Korean Korea Feed Association has launched an international tender for up to 69,000 tons of animal feed grain.

The deadline to submit price offers for the KFA Busan section's tender is also Tuesday, 18 November.

Around February 5, 2026, a consignment weighing between 50,000 and 69,000 tons of corn was to arrive in South Korea.

The bidder may choose to source corn from South America, the United States or South Africa.

Shipping is requested between December 28 and January 16 for corn sourced from U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast, between the dates of December 8 and December 27 for corn sourced from U.S. Gulf coast, or between the dates of December 3 to December 22 if the corn comes from South America, or between the dates between December 18 to January 6 if it comes from South Africa.

The price offers will be in cost and freight inclusive (c&f), as well as a premium to Chicago March 2026 Corn Futures.

The traders said that the Chinese buying U.S. agricultural products again, as reported on Monday, after the truce in the trade war between the two nations, could increase prices. This was increasing Asian demand to prepare for this. (Reporting and editing by Susan Fenton; Michael Hogan)
