South Korea's MFG purchases 65,000 T of feed wheat from the United States
Major Feedmill Group, a South Korean company, purchased 65,000 metric tonnes of animal feed wheat from the United States on Tuesday in a deal that was not subject to an international tender.
A consignment of goods was purchased for an estimated cost and freight included (261.75 per ton) plus $1.25 per ton as a surcharge to cover additional port unloading. The trading house Pan Ocean was thought to have sold it.
Wheat was due to arrive in South Korea on November 7.
The shipment was made from the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast between September 19 and November 18.
"U.S. "Wheat is looking for the lowest-cost, high-volume origins in the world. It is not surprising that U.S. sales to Asia are increasing," said one European trader. "Black Sea new crop prices that are unexpectedly high are preventing Ukraine and Russia to sell their products in Asia."
MFG also released a separate bid to purchase 140,000 tons corn that closes on Wednesday.
The reports reflect the assessments of traders. Further estimates on prices and volume are possible in the future. (Reporting and editing by Kirby Donovan, Michael Hogan)
